Michael Strahan refused to accept a custom jersey from the Eagles during “Good Morning America” on Thursday.
The former All-Pro pass rusher, who won a Super Bowl with the Giants during his 15-year NFL career with New York, was jokingly gifted a No. 25 jersey with his name on it by the Eagles and he held it up for the camera.
“All I can say is, you wish!” Strahan said before he tossed the jersey at the floor.
“Hope you kept the receipt, guys 😅,” GMA wrote on Instagram, including a clip of Strahan, who’s been a co-anchor on the show since 2016.
The Eagles gifted Strahan the jersey as joked before their visit to “GMA” to promote the Eagles Autism Foundation on Friday.
April is also Autism Acceptance Month.
“GMA” co-anchor Robin Roberts added that she tried to stop Sam Champion from presenting Strahan with the jersey.
“Our friends at the @philadelphiaeagles are coming to Times Square tomorrow and they wanted to give @michaelstrahan a present for the occasion!” GMA added on its YouTube channel.
Strahan is the Giants’ all-time leader in sacks with 141.5.
The Giants retired Strahan’s No. 92 during a halftime a game against the Eagles at MetLife Stadium on November 28, 2021.
The jersey stunt came months after the Big Blue icon waved an Eagles flag and said “Fly Eagles, Fly,” during a Super Bowl pregame show segment with running back Saquon Barkley, a move Strahan’s former teammate Amani Toomer called a “shot across the bow” to the franchise.
