A Sacramento Kings fan is a man of his word.
A fan had posted on X that if DeMar DeRozan went to the Kings, then he would get the player’s name and the team’s logo tattooed on his arm.
The Kings landed the reliable scorer Saturday on a three-year, $74 million sign-and-trade deal that included the Bulls and Spurs.
The user — who went by the handle @BradleyScottD — posted previously that “if DeMar DeRozan picks the Kings I will get his name tattoo’d somewhere on my body.”
He followed up on the post from Friday that he followed through on his promise, posting a picture of the tattoo of the Kings logo with DeRozan’s name spelled out on the bottom.
“Promises made, promises kept. @DeMar_DeRozan,” @BradleyScottD wrote on X.
Social media seemed to love the one fan’s commitment with a number of users weighing in on the decision.
“Dude is living the life we wish we could Good on ya!” one person wrote, adding a pair of emojis throughout the post.
“Bro this is wild,” another person wrote.
Some people were not as convinced that this was the best idea.
“I respect the commitment, but nobody was holding you to this,” one other person said.
DeRozan is a six-time NBA All-Star — two of which occurred with the Bulls during his time in Chicago — and he averaged 24 points, 4.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists during the 2023-24 season.
DeRozan was originally the No. 9 overall pick in 2009 by the Raptors, and he has played in San Antonio along with Toronto and Chicago.
DeRozan went to Sacramento to meet with the team’s front office and head coach Mike Brown over the weekend, according to ESPN.
The Kings have had back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 2006, but their most recent campaign came to an end in the play-in tournament.
