The Clearwater (Fla.) police department and Major Nate Burnside released its timeline for how it handled superstar pro wrestler Hulk Hogan’s death on Thursday at 71.
The 911 call came at 9:51 a.m. ET on Thursday and resulted in immediate medical dispatch, with the medics arriving at the 1000 block of Eldorado Avenue of Clearwater Beach at 9:56 a.m.
The department described the nature of the call as being for cardiac arrest.
The police request and dispatch happened at 10:19 a.m., and they arrived four minutes later to tend to Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea.
“It was discovered at that time, Terry Bollea, also known as Hulk Hogan, was experiencing a serious medical issue,” Burnside said in a press conference Thursday.
Clearwater fire and rescue teams tended to the former WCW and WWE star before transporting Hogan to Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater at 10:32 a.m.
A clip of responders allegedly removing Hogan from his house via a stretcher and doing chest compressions has since surfaced.
Hogan died at 11:17 a.m. ET.
There had been conflicting reports on Hogan’s health over the past month-plus, although longtime wrestling manager and friend Jimmy Hart said Tuesday that Hogan was “doing great.”
“The Clearwater police department is conducting a death investigation, which is standard in these types of cases,” Burnside said Thursday.

“There are no signs of foul play or suspicious activity related to this call for our service at this time. Our personnel is providing the family with the necessary resources. I’m strongly encouraging everyone to keep the family in their thoughts, and respect their privacy during this difficult time.”

Hogan helped wrestling become a mainstream attraction, with his “Hulkamania” era transforming WWE into a household product.

Hogan also pioneered other notable moments, including teaming with Mr. T at WrestleMania I at MSG, a moment remembered for helping launch wrestling into the pop culture stratosphere.
“WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away,” the company posted Thursday on X. “One of pop culture’s most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s. WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans.”
