The Raiders have made a decision about their top wide receiver.
Las Vegas will not be trading star wideout Davante Adams as the trade deadline approaches, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Saturday.
The NFL insider also reported that the Raiders are not interested in dealing Adams before the Oct. 31 deadline, even if he wants a trade out of town.
Earlier this week, Adams said he has been “frustrated” with his usage in the Raiders’ offense.
The 31-year-old ranks 10th in the NFL with 39 receptions this season while totaling 471 yards through six weeks.
“So if it don’t look like it’s supposed to look, then I’m going to be frustrated if I’m not a part of that plan,” Adams said, according to ESPN. “Because I have the opportunity to go and change that and make it look like a much better picture out there. And if that doesn’t happen, then I’m going to be frustrated. If Jakobi [Meyers] goes out and has a monster game or if the offense is scoring every five plays, like our first drive on the Bills, then it is what it is.
“It’s not about me, but I’m one of the bigger pieces as to why this offense is going to go. And if I’m not getting it, then that’s obviously not according to plan.”
A three-time All-Pro, Adams got off to a hot start this season with new Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, hauling in 25 catches through the first three contests.
But over his last three games, Adams has just 149 yards on 14 catches as the Raiders sit at 3-3 after winning back-to-back games.
As Adams looks to get back on track, he will have to do things with another quarterback under center.
With Garoppolo out for Week 7’s game against the Bears with a back injury, 38-year-old journeyman Brian Hoyer is reportedly set to start.
Adams joined the Raiders in 2022 after being traded by the Packers in a blockbuster deal.
He inked a five-year extension but does have a potential out in his contract in 2025, according to Spotrac.
