The Red Sox have made their first major splash following the departure of Alex Bregman.
Boston has agreed to a five-year, $130 million deal with All-Star left-hander Ranger Suarez, The Post’s Jon Heyman first reported.
The contract does not come with any deferrals, Heyman added.
Suarez, 30, went 12-8 with a 3.20 ERA over 26 starts for Philadelphia last season.
He made his first career All-Star team in 2024, when he posted an identical 12-8 record with a 3.46 ERA.
Suarez solidifies Boston’s rotation behind ace Garrett Crochet, right-hander Brayan Bello and fellow offseason acquisitions Sonny Gray and Johan Oviedo.
The Phillies were not expected to re-sign Suarez despite entering 2026 without star hurler Zack Wheeler.
