Stephen A. Smith wants podcast in front of ‘disgusting’ Cowboys fans

Stephen A. Smith wants to further channel his inner professional wrestler.

The longtime ESPN host and analyst has been growing his own podcast away from the four-letter network, “The Stephen A. Smith Show.”

In a conversation with USA Today, he said he wants to host a podcast episode at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, otherwise known as “Jerry World,” in front of Dallas Cowboys fans, with whom he often plays the villain role on ESPN’s “First Take.”

“One of my dreams is to do a show from the parking lot of AT&T Stadium during a tailgate party, before the game,” Smith said.

“Their fans are the disgusting, nauseating fan base that gets on my last damn nerves,” he added.

Smith has been a longtime antagonist of the fan base but generally insists that it’s good-natured, although he really plays to the character in his interview with USA Today.

“I think Dallas Cowboys fans are born delusional,” he continued. “I don’t think there is anything that’s really sane about them.”

That said, he does acknowledge the fan base’s passion, admitting supporters of the Cowboys are “arguably the greatest fan base in sports.”

The Cowboys (10-4) made for an easy punching bag over the last week as they snapped a five-game winning streak with a blowout road loss to the Bills, hurting their chances of winning the NFC East over the Eagles (10-4).

Dallas is set for another road game on Sunday against the Dolphins, followed by a home game against the Lions on Saturday and a road tilt against the Commanders in Week 18.
