\There was much Team USA gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik loved about his 2024 Olympics experience — just not the viral cardboard beds.
When speaking to the Associated Press about the Paris Games, where he gained notoriety as “pommel horse guy” after winning bronze in the team final, Nedoroscik elaborated why the furniture was simply “okay.”
“First of all, I love the Olympic Village; the setup is great,” he said in a video posted on social media. “The beds themselves are… okay. They’re okay.”
Nedoroscik, 25, added Olympics organizers did the best they could given the number of athletes that would be present for the Games, but decided to make some changes to his sleeping arrangement.
“They also did a good job because [the bed is] washable. It’s completely made out of recycled stuff, so it’s really cool to see that but I definitely need to get myself a mattress topper, unfortunately, sorry everyone,” Nedoroscik said while laughing.
Paris may be known as the “City of Love,” but the beds were reportedly made to stop any potential love-making dead in its tracks.
The twin-sized beds also left little room for more than one person to sleep comfortably.
Nedoroscik, who has been dating girlfriend Tess McCracken for more than eight years, became a national hero at the Olympics when he completed an incredible pommel horse routine in the team final last week, earning a score of 14.866.
The Massachusetts native became a viral meme when he was seen closing his eyes while readying for the event.

“We were probably going to medal if I nailed my set, and they were jumping up and down and I was like, ‘I think we did it!’ ” Nedoroscik said. “And they picked me up and, man, that’s a memory that’s going to live in my head forever.”
Nedoroscik’s impressive showing won Team USA its first medal in the event since 2008.
He then a earned bronze medal in the pommel horse final on Saturday.
