Sydney Thomas doesn’t want to be distracted by a man.
The 21-year-old model and University of Alabama student, who garnered mass attention after going viral as a ring girl for the Mike Tyson-Jake Paul fight on Nov. 15, explained why she broke up with her boyfriend right before the summer.
“I literally broke up with my boyfriend and [I] had no problems with him at all. He was great,” Thomas told YouTube personality Nick Nayersina in a video posted to his channel on Monday. “This was right before summer. I just broke up with him because I was like ‘I just need/want more time with myself. I just need to discover who I am, I want to be alone. I want to just focus on myself.’
“As hard as it was to lose him and lose each other I feel like it’s all God’s plan. It works out in the end.”
Thomas went on to share that she has “absolutely nobody” in her life that she is currently dating .
“I’m so just focused on myself right now, any man is a distraction to me,” she said.
The blonde beauty did reveal that she has a list of prerequisites.
“I need someone who is respectful and I think that’s honestly one of the biggest turnoffs for me is when a man isn’t respectful,” she said. “I think I need a man that’s taller than six foot. I’d like a tall man in my life. I’m a tall girl.”
At the time, Thomas was in Las Vegas and met up with Nayersina and his friends to style them for their celebration of reaching one million subscribers on YouTube.
Thomas previously celebrated reaching one million followers on TikTok after she went viral as a ring girl during Paul’s unanimous decision win over Tyson at AT&T Stadium in Arlington last month.
The St. Louis, Missouri native currently is enrolled in online classes at Alabama so she can travel.
Thomas also works for the St. Louis Cardinals as part of the team’s in-game hype squad.
