Here’s what to look for in the Jets’ second preseason game against the Panthers on Saturday.
1. First-round pick Olu Fashanu is going to see plenty of time in this game, perhaps at right tackle after playing left tackle last week.
The Jets hope Fashanu won’t have to play at all during the regular season and can just watch Tyron Smith and Morgan Moses, but they are preparing him to play on both the left and right sides.
2. The Jets are going to have some interesting roster decisions to make on the defensive line.
Former first-round pick Takk McKinley is having a strong training camp and could make the team.
He is going to need to produce in the preseason games.
Jalyn Holmes is another edge rusher to watch who has a shot at getting one of the last roster spots.
3. Rookie running backs Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis had strong debuts last week against Washington.
Can they come up with an encore this week?
The Jets have been encouraged at what they’ve seen from the rookie duo and they can continue to impress with a big game against the Panthers.
