Travis Kelce couldn’t be happier, but he is staying grounded as his relationship with girlfriend Taylor Swift intensifies.
“When you have good family and friends around you, it makes that aspect in life that much easier,” the Chiefs star tight end said Thursday on “Good Morning America” when asked how he stays true to himself as the buzz around his private life heightens.
“I’ve always been a very grounded guy, it might not come off like that when I’m playing football, but off the field, I just want to be a genuine person. I try not to get too far down the road because you just never know when opportunities are going to present themselves.”
Kelce added Thursday that he feels “on top of the mountain, even after winning” his third Super Bowl in five seasons earlier this year.
Kelce’s romance with Swift has continued to dominate headlines after the pair was first linked in 2023.
Swift flipped the internet upside down in September when she cheered on Kelce at Arrowhead Stadium during the Chiefs’ Week 3 win over the Bears.
The pop megastar supported the All-Pro tight end the following week during a primetime matchup against the Jets at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Kelce and Swift went public with their romance in October when they were photographed holding hands while in New York.
Swift continued to show her support for Kelce and the Chiefs throughout the 2023 NFL season, including Super Bowl 2024 in February, when the Chiefs defeated the 49ers in overtime, 25-22.
The couple embraced on the field after the win at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
The Chiefs’ latest Super Bowl victory marked Kelce’s third with the team in five seasons.
Kelce kicked off his offseason by venturing to Australia and Singapore, where Swift performed as part of her blockbuster Eras Tour.
Last month, he attended her fourth Eras Tour show in Paris, where he was seen dancing in a box with model Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper.
“Her new rendition of the Eras Tour, I suggest everybody go see it. It has her new ‘Tortured Poets Department,’ a handful of those songs in the new show, which means there’s a new segment, new lights, new dancing and everything,” Kelce said on a May episode of his “New Heights” podcast. “I enjoyed every bit of it.”
Kelce, rumored to be the muse of Swift’s new tracks “The Alchemy” and “So High School,” later traveled to Italy with the 14-time Grammy winner for a romantic getaway in between shows.
Swift is touring through Europe this summer. The Eras Tour will return to North America this fall.
Kelce will suit up for his 12th NFL season in September, with the Chiefs hosting the Ravens in their season opener on Sept. 5.
