Young players entering the NFL and making an instant impact is a notable trend.

The odds have Ashton Jeanty as a resounding favorite to win Offensive Rookie of the Year, but there’s more to this market than meets the eye.

This draft class of rookies, particularly the running backs, has been heralded as one of the best in recent years.

Certainly, Jeanty has a lot to do with that.

But don’t sleep on some others further down the draft (and odds) board that could make some serious headway as the next great playmaker in this league.

NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year predictions

Treyvon Henderson, New England Patriots (14/1, FanDuel)

While there is competition for carries, no debutante has done more to solidify their role this preseason than Patriots rookie Treyvon Henderson.

Henderson took his first touch this preseason to the house for a kick-return touchdown.

He’s been getting rave reviews throughout camp, and that’s been consistent with the love he received while at Ohio State.

Henderson had the fifth-best rushing grade by Pro Football Focus throughout the entire FBS last year behind Jeanty, Cam Skattebo, Damien Martinez, and Fluff Bothwell.

Of those players, only Jeanty has a clear path to the lion’s share of work as the primary running back.

I suspect that Henderson will take over the Patriots’ offense before long, as he and Drake Maye form a formidable bond for years to come.

Matthew Golden, Green Bay Packers (25/1, BetMGM)

The Packers appear to have sent a message to the rest of their receiving corps: Last year wasn’t good enough.

Green Bay’s wide receivers graded out as the 17th-best unit in the NFL according to PFF, and they are expecting more struggles in 2025, as they are rated No. 21 heading into this season.

Even more concerning was their insane 8.2 percent drop rate on catchable passes, among the worst in the NFL.

For comparison, their division rivals in Detroit had just a 1.7 percent drop rate (best in the NFL).

Golden, who changed his number from 22 to 0, figures to have a shot at the WR1 gig in Green Bay.
