What Nets must do in second half to fulfill lottery-fueled dreams

Brooklyn has mercifully reached the midway point of this lottery-bound season.

It’s fitting that the Nets start the second half Wednesday night in the Garden, with so much of their rebuild based on shorting the Knicks, and banking on the draft picks they’ve pried from their archrival for Mikal Bridges.

As with any tanking season, this one is interminably long and arduous. The Nets finished the first half at 12-29, the fifth-worst record in the NBA. Or more to the point, with the fifth-best odds in the all-important draft lottery.

But what are their goals for the second half? From Brooklyn head coach Jordi Fernandez trying to mold his team to general manager Sean Marks tweaking the roster he’s going to give Fernandez, what do the Nets hope to accomplish down the stretch of this season?
