It appears a divorce between the Eagles and wide receiver A.J. Brown could finally come this offseason.

Head coach Nick Sirianni added more fuel to the fire with some interesting comments regarding Brown’s future with the team last Friday.

Right now, DraftKings oddsmakers have made available next-team odds for Brown.

The market has him staying put with the reigning NFC East champions, with the Eagles leading the way at -150 odds.

However, if he does request out, the Patriots (+200), Bills (+750), Titans (10/1), and 49ers (12/1) are among the teams he could join to continue his career.

Brown was drafted 51st overall by the Titans in 2019 and spent three seasons in Tennessee. Under Mike Vrabel, Brown developed into an underrated, physical force at the receiver position.

Now, a possible reunion with Vrabel and pairing with young quarterback Drake Maye could be on the table.

His tenure in Tennessee ended when the Eagles sought Brown and acquired him via trade on draft day in 2022.

He then signed a four-year, $100 million contract ($57 million guaranteed) to reunite with close friend Jalen Hurts, and the rest was history.

Brown had 10 receptions for 155 yards in his first game as an Eagle, setting the franchise record for most receiving yards in a debut.

After his 2022-23 debut season with the team, Brown also set a Philadelphia single-season franchise record with 1,496 receiving yards.

The three-time Pro Bowler formed a lethal combination alongside DeVonta Smith, and after an injury-filled 2023-24 campaign, Brown was back on the field for the Eagles’ Super Bowl run in the 2024 season.

Brown supplied three receptions for 43 yards and a touchdown in Philadelphia’s 40-22 win over Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in last year’s Super Bowl.

The start of the 2025 season is when things turned sour between the Eagles and Brown.

Whether it was literally reading a book on the sidelines or stating his opinion on a streaming platform, Brown’s frustration with not getting enough targets seemed to grow.

Betting on the NFL?

The theatrics between Brown and Sirianni in the Eagles’ wild-card playoff loss to the 49ers overshadowed Philadelphia’s repeat bid for a Super Bowl this past season.

Brown finished with 78 receptions for 1,003 yards (career-worst) and seven touchdowns in 15 games.

Keep in mind, Brown recently signed a three-year, $96 million contract extension through 2029.

Due to the structure of the extension, if the Eagles cut him before June 1, they will incur a huge $72.5 million dead cap, ultimately leading to a near $49 million loss in cap space.

If he is traded instead, the team will still lose $43.5 million, including $20.1 million in cap room.

Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman has quite a decision to make.
