On more than a few occasions last season, when Juan Soto would do something incredible at the plate for the Yankees, their starting pitcher that night would offer up some version of: I’m just glad he’s on my team and I don’t have to face him.
Now they do.
Carlos Rodón and Clarke Schmidt will face their former teammate on Friday and Saturday at Yankee Stadium before Max Fried — signed with the money freed up when Soto chose the Mets — closes out the series on Sunday.
